Glossar: Draw-wire sensor

wireSENSOR-gruppe--180px.jpg (6 KB)) Draw-wire Sensors measure linear movements using a highly flexible steel cable. The cable is wound around a drum, the axle of which is coupled to a Potentiometer or Encoder. The end of the cable is attached to the Measurement object. With a change of distance of the Measurement object to the Sensor the drum rotates. This rotational movement is converted to an electrical signal and output by an Encoder or Potentiometer.
